Narochanskiy National Park is located in the north-western part of Minsk Region (Myadel District - 96.0% and partially Vileika District -2.0%), in the territory of Vitebsk Region (Postavy District - 1.7%), and Grodno Region (Smorgon District - 0.3%). The total area is 97.3 thousand ha.

Belarus_National_park_Naroch_Lake_SwansThe peculiarity of Narochanskiy National Park is concentration of 43 lakes in its territory. These are repreented first of all by the largest one, Naroch (7,962 ha), and the deepest one, Bolduk (39.7 m). Vegetation is on over 50 thousand ha of the territory of the national park. Pineries with the cade and mountain ash in the underbrush and a lot of heather, cowberry, lichens, and mosses are typical. Birch and birch-and-asp forests, fir-tree massifs, and alder forests are also numerous.

Among the area plants various species of mosses, lichens, algae, mushrooms can be found, there around 900 species of higher plants. The list of exotic and endangered species on the Red List includes around 30 (including mountain arnica, wood anemone, cowslip paigle, lady's slipper, European globe flower, hepatica, meadow pasqueflower, dead man's fingers etc.).

The fauna is also rich. In the territory of the park there can be found the elk, European wild hog, roe, wolf, raccoon dog, badger, otter gear, beaver, fox, Arctic hare and European brown hare, marten, squirrel, polecat, musk beaver, mink. The full list of the avifauna includes 185 species. It includes over 20 species of birds on the Red List of our country (American merganser, common goldeneye, bittern, fish-hawk, Eurasian curlew, common crane etc.).

25 species of fish live in the water reservoirs of the park territory, 18 of these belong to the aboriginal fauna (the pike, perch, bream, crucian carp, roach, European cisco, ide, red-eye, tench, flat bream, bleak, verkhovka, gudgeon, ruff, burbot, fresh-water catfish, loach, miller's-thumb), 6 species (goldfish, European carp, Prussian carp, pike perch, cisco, eel) appeared as a result of fish-rearing measures, 1 - stickleback - reached the lakes spontaneously.

In the territory of the park foot and bike trips along the lakeshores and water ones along lakes, rivers, and channels are organised.
